I am a junior computer science and statistics double major at Carleton College. I grew up in San Francisco before coming to Carleton, so I am still getting used to the cold. This website is a place that I will be documenting my exploration of digital arts and humanities in the Hacking the Humanities class. As a computer science and statistics double major, I have a lot of experience working with data and digital tools, however, this is my first time applying many of those skills to humanities projects. I am really excited to learn new software and develop additional skills in coding and data analysis. So far in this class I have been exposed to Fusion360 and some basic web development and I have seen lots of examples of cool digital humanities projects such as this visualization of the 2014 State of the Union address. When I’m not working on school projects, I love playing and watching sports, especially soccer as well as spending time outside with friends and going to the beach in SF with my dog, Ellie.
